At GTI Hoist we can cater to all your training requirements for both the construction and industrial rack & pinion industry’s. Specifically we can provide training in the following areas;

All training can be delivered either at your own site or at our state of the art facility in Peterborough and is provided by a training instructor with over 10 years industry experience.*subject to competence checks of potential candidates.

Simon Taylor

Sales / Operations / Lead Engineer

Simon began working in the rack and pinion industry for Alimak Hek ltd in the year 2000 after qualifying as a 16th edition electrician. He has gained extensive experience and qualifications within the construction and industrial industry over the last 15 years attaining a HNC in electrical and electronics at Northampton University. Simon has developed his skill set to incorporate travelling world wide both off and on shore.

Simon enjoys the challenging aspect of the hoist industry with the variety of sites and applications on offer.

Lee Murrell

Sales / Technical / Lead Engineer

Lee began working in the rack and pinion industry for Alimak Hek ltd in 2005 after leaving Timson’s ltd in Kettering where he gained an advanced modern apprenticeship in precision electro/mechanical engineering over a 5 year period, he has now been trained in all aspects of industrial lift and hoist installation, service and repair.

Lee then moved on from Alimak Hek to continue his engineering career with Torquemeters of Northamptonshire where he became there first and only field engineer installing test equipment all over the world on gas turbines for the industrial sector this also included oil platforms onshore and offshore. He now has fitted back into the lift industry well using a wide range of skills picked up over many years experience including but not limited to Construction Design Management (CDM) onsite as part of a principle contractor team, a slinger signaler and team leader.

Scott Grant

Sales / Lead Engineer / Trainer

Scott began working in the rack and pinion industry for Alimak Hek ltd in 2006 after leaving the Royal Navy. He has been trained in all aspects of industrial lift and hoist installation, service, and repair. Scott has been involved in the planning and implementation of many high profile installations around the UK. His skill set encompasses Construction Design Management (CDM) on sites as part of the principle contractor team, Planning of crane lifts as an appointed person and the conception of Safe Systems of Works.

Scott has also been called upon to travel all over the world to install lifts and hoists, and carry out breakdown repairs.
